Hope to warm a Heart

Hello and Happy New Year's Eve Eve to you!!
Another year is coming to a close and many may be reflecting on this past year, the highs and the lows. I can't help but think that it's the lows that make the highs so wonderful. Afterall, if we didn't experience a little bit of adversity we would probably not grow in our character. Practice makes perfect or perhaps better said in James 1:2-4 "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have it's perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing."
I know that I certainly don't like problems or trials, I'd love for life to just go on with no hitches but that's not really reality is it? So if you are dealing with something today or last week or last month or whenever, know that the Lord is there to help you walk through it. I know He is faithful and not wanting us to go it alone. And to top it off He desires you to grow from it and sometimes growing pains can hurt so hang on to our Abba Father's hand and He will be there for you each step, helping you to conform to the image of His dear Son, Jesus Christ.
Here is a sweet little card (don't you love this snowman!!) and it's inspired by the Christian Paper Crafts sketch this week. I made it for a friend going through a trial right now and I hope it brings a smile to her face and will warm her heart!
I've added the list of "ingredients" at the end of the post.

Happy Birthday to Riley!

Hello Delightful friends and family!
I know it's been ages since I've written but time just has not allowed me the luxury of sitting at my computer to "visit" or spend a lot of time at my craft table. That doesn't mean I haven't been creative, I have, but I've just not had time to post it, but I do have the pics! I'm really counting on after Christmas to get back into the regular habit of writing again.
Yesterday we celebrated Riley Ann's 3rd birthday! Cannot believe she is already 3 years old (today is her actual birthday). She was so excited about having cake, it superceded her presents!

Is she not a doll?!!

Busted by Grammie and I got it on film! The little pills! Riley and her partner in the sugar crime is none other than her cousin Jake!

Happy Birthday dear Riley Ann, happy birthday to you!! Love you lots!

It's a Special Day!

Hello dear friends and family!
So sorry I've been MIA lately, responsibilities in the "real" world have kept me away. Not saying that you aren't real, it's just priorities and I know you understand!
Today is another busy day, I'm off to work but want to wish my daughter Amy a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! We will not be discussing age here... ;-)
Here are a couple of projects I did finish this past week. The tag is for CAS Saturday at Christian Paper Crafts. The stamps: Taylored Expression (dove) and the sentiment is Our Daily Bread Designs Ink: Memento, rich cocoa, Distress ink: Peeled paint and broken china; ribbon American Crafts; Tag: Paper Accents. The challenge is to use only 3 colors.

CPC-CASS05

This card I made is not for a challenge but was a belated birthday card for my sister-in-law, Dora. The stamp is from Taylored Expressions (a la carte belated birthday: Standing Out in a Crowd) I apologize I didn't take a picture of the inside! Paper is Imaginese and Bazzill; ink: Memento, rich cocoa; Glossy accents on the balloon and beaks; The Taylored Expression Scalloped border die and my cuttlebug were used also! I colored the image with my copic markers. So sorry to rush through but I've got to run!!

HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!

Happy Anniversary Play Date Cafe!

Welcome to my Delightful friends and family!!

So glad you've stopped by. This week has been a week of celebration for the gals at the Play Date Cafe blog and congratulations are in order! They are celebrating their first year of challenges! They have a week of guest designers from Unity Stamp Company so head over there and check out the inspiration!! Here is the color challenge this week. Something bright and festive!

My stamp from Penny Black (Light the Night) is ready for the party to get started! I was inspired by the pink and orange in this color combo and I just happened to have the perfect paper from DCWV Sweet Stack! The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Co (Mix up of Cuteness set); Ink is Memento, Rich Cocoa.

I used my Copic markers to color the party girl and added Stickles and Smooch acrylic accent ink for some highlights and to give the shoes the just right color! The adhesive pearls are from KaiserCraft and the card stock is from Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient kit as is the ribbon. I used a border punch from Fiskars at the top of the card with the pattern paper going in the opposite direction for interest. Finished card is 5.5 x 4.25

Copics used: C1, E00, E37, R59, R20, R32, RV13, RV17, YR07

Thanks for looking and be sure to congratulate the DT at PDCC this week!

Sketch Tuesday - Lots of love!

Hello my Delightful friends and family!
I just got a new stamp and couldn't wait to try it out!! We are getting so much new merchandise at Scrapper's Edge that I can hardly contain myself!! I have to exercise so much self control that it hurts! (I wish that kind of exercise did a body good!) You should see all the new stuff that came in today, oh goodness gracious - I'm like a child in a candy store! But lets get back to the card at hand (on screen, at screen...) The card is inspired by the sketch that Gloria has provided at Christian Paper Crafts for Sketch Tuesday (#79) (I haven't finished Color Mondays card which the challenge is blue and yellow with cream or white, that is next on the craft agenda!)

CPCST79

Here is my take on the sketch and my new stamp from Penny Black's line and it's called Sweet Thing - isn't that the cutest!

Here are the Copic markers I used to color that sweet thang! (I was too lazy to type them all out so I took a picture instead, my fingers don't need to lose the weight. Ha!)

The finished card is 5-1/2 x 4-1/4. Nearly all the ingredients are from my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient kit from July (KI Memories Paisley Parade, Designer Paper, card stock, ribbon) Stamp: Penny Black; Ink: Memento, rich cocoa; Distress Ink: Aged Mahogany; Smooch pearlized acrylic accent paint, Moonlit (white);Spellbinders Nestablilities classic scallop circles; Cuttlebug; Scallop border die, Taylored Expressions.

Thanks for looking, hope you're enjoying lots of love - Here is a verse I'd like to leave with you tonight and pray that it will bless you this week.

And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16

Thanks for looking and I look forward to reading your delightful comments!
PS: Be sure and check back on Thursday for the Blast From the Past Blog Hop featuring Taylored Expressions Christmas stamps from the past! I'll have two fun cards to share with you all.

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

Hello delightful friends and family!!

If a picture paints a thousand words, then I have quite a few thousand to share... (I tried to make the layout of pictures be normal looking but I give up!! click to enlarge)

From pony rides, (Riley)

to serious face painting (Jakob)

to chillin' with Poppa

and picking out a pumpkin...

The three amigos and a dog.

Can I have this one?

big man, little man...

Addy wanted to walk in the opposite direction...

No, that's not a pumpkin undercover that is grandbaby #4! I had to sneak that picture in!

It was a good day at the pumpkin patch! And yes, I was there - behind the camera as usual.
