Hello Delightful friends and family!
Hope your day went well, it's almost time for the kiddos to head to their own home and for me to go to our Thursday night Bible study.  Thought I might get this card challenge posted before I went.  After Bible study I'll be working on Jakob's birthday card, he's going to be six years old tomorrow. He's the oldest of the four grandkids and I can't believe how big he's getting.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Using up the Scraps

Hello Delightful friends and family!
My craft table is a disaster so I decided to use up some scraps in a hurry!!  So this is just a quickie post to show what I did.  All are scraps except the twine (Darice and We R Memory Keepers) and buttons (Key Ingredient Kit - TE) of course.  The stamp set is Faith in Bloom (Taylored Expressions) and I've stamped the sentiments with Memento Tuxedo Black.

Other tools used: Cuttlebug, Embossing folders, border punch, Fiskars trimmer and a Spellbinder Nestabilities Die. Finished size 3x3 perfect for a gift or to slip in a lunch.

Thanks for visiting! Enjoy your day.  I'm off to clean my play area!

Make a Wish - seize the Birthday #7 and LOVEFEST2013C

Good morning Delightful Friends and Family!

It's Saturday morning and I'm embarrassed to say I'm still in my jammies and on my second cup of coffee!  Hubby is gone for most of the day and I thought I'd get a card posted and then it will be off to the church to get my duties done and then back home for a little craft time and a little housework time... or maybe a lot of craft time and a little less chore time (ha!)
Here is my card for two challenges:

I've added some sweet little Twinklettes (Taylored Expressions) for some added bling and a more feminine touch.  If you enlarge the picture you can see it better (I hope!)  I've also used the chalkboard technique on this card, too.

For a Friend - Flip, Flap, Oodles of Folds (LOVEFEST2013D)

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Hope you are enjoying thoughts of the upcoming weekend.  I was able to get a lot of errands done today for my hubby for the Men's Ministry to free his time up a bit. No easy job with two rambunctious grandkids who are feeling a bit of cabin fever.  By the looks of the sky I think we are in store for another cold and wet afternoon.  So glad I was able to get the running around done early enough to miss the raindrops!  Late last night I finished a card/giftcard holder set featuring the Scor-Pal for the Splitcoast Stamper's Member Company Love Fest challenge.  When I got to looking I realized I skipped over the Stamping Bella challenge (Bring on the Bling) Oops! So, I'll be working on that later after the little ones head home.  I should just take a picture of my fingernails, little Miss Addy (age 3) painted my nails with "Rockstar Pink Glitter nail polish!! (speaking of bling!)  You can only imagine......
Well, here is my entry for the Scor-Pal challenge.  It's a criss cross pocket card found here.
Ingredients:
The designer paper is from the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient kit this month (My Minds Eye  -  Meadowlark Collection, 6x6 pad) Bazzill and Neenah card stock.  Ribbon and button from the KI Kit and the stamp I've used is from TE called Summer Afternoon, the sentiment Faith in Bloom (also TE). The flower is a die from the Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers - Tattered mini florals from Sizzix.  I've made a pocket for the gift card in the insert.  Ink- Memento tuxedo black and I've used Distress Ink - Black Soot to ink around the edges of the flower.

Sorry the pic is a little dark, I took this early this morning and my camera battery really was in need of recharging (and I really need a lightbox!)

All 3 pieces

Well, that's it for me for now.  So glad to have power and internet service again.  A delivery truck hit a power pole in town around 4a.m. and it's been on again off again as they have been replacing the pole and power.  Thankfully no one one was injured in the mishap.

Thanks for visiting.  Enjoy your Friday evening!

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.  Psalm 42:11

Happy Thoughts - LOVEFEST2013B

Hello Delight Friends and Family!

Well just want to start this right off with a card dedication to my lil' bro Darrell in Nebraska.  He is being a little whiny about the snow so I just want to remind him to have Happy Thoughts, spring will be here before you know it!  ;-)  This card is for you, Darrell!

I'm entering this card in the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch challenge from member company Sweet 'n Sassy for day 2 of the Love Fest 2013.  I'm just a little behind in my card making for these challenges so I'm going to need to speed up my production if I'm going to get at least one entry for each eleven challenges in before the 28th!
Rainy Day Bethany Bunny is the digi image I've used from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.  Isn't she cute and there are many more images featuring Bethany.
I've used my Copic markers and tried out a new coloring technique (Pointillism: building texture) to color her.  It will take a while before I have this technique perfected!  Head over to the My Favorite Things Academy and you'll see the tutorial.

Here are the ingredients to my card:
Paper: Designer Paper: Echo Park (Everyday Eclectic)
Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah
Stamps: Taylored Expressions - Many Mini Occasions (sentiment)
Ink:Memento Tuxedo Black
Prismacolor Pencil (grass)
Copic Markers
Spica Pen (to color the dots, butterfly, raindrops)
Dies:  MFT - Die-Namics Fishtale Flags Stax; Mini Tags (Taylored Expressions); Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Ovals.
Washi Tape: Queen & Co.; Ribbon (stash); White Gel Pen

Thanks for looking and stay warm out there!!

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.  Ephesians 5:1-2

LOVEFEST2013A - God is Faithful (WAW#68)

Hello Delightful friends and family!

I've been playing around with this letterpress technique I shared in my last post and I've made another card but instead of using Archival Ink, I've used Distress Ink.  It had a little less coverage and seemed to resist the paper unlike the Archival ink which saturated and covered (in my opinion) a bit better but the result was still good, just different.  The inks I've used are Bundled Sage (first), then Spiced Marmalade and then Frayed Burlap. I've also used Vintage Photo around the sentiment.
I'm entering this card at the Splitcoast Stamper's Love Fest's  first challenge.  The challenge was to incorporate items into the card using the letters L - O - V - E.

 I've incorporated the following:

L - Letterpress technique and lace
O - oval and orange
V - Vintage Photo Distress Ink and vintage lace
E - Embossing folder

I'm also entering this at Word Art Wednesday - challenge #68 Anything Goes .

The other ingredients: Stamps - Taylored Expressions (Faith in Bloom); Ribbon (brown) TE Key Ingredient kit; Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Spellbinder Nestabilities scallop oval;  Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah. Lace (KaiserCraft); Embossing Folder (Cuttlebug - Provocraft).

Thanks for visiting and remember:  God is truly faithful!!

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.   Romans 5:8

Just Because - Word Art Wednesday #67

 Hello Delightful friends!
Well, laundry is almost done so I've been playing around with a technique that I've only done a couple of times before and I was watching the StampTV video this week called "Double Letterpress" and thought I'd try it again.  Hope you like it.  I love the color combo.  (Memento Inks used: Olive, Aquamarine and Coffee).
I'm entering this in the challenge at Word Art Wednesday (Love - Anything Goes).  Sometimes we just need a card that says "Just Because"  I think I might give this to my husband today.  He's had kind of a rough couple of weeks.

This is so much prettier in person.  I've used a dark brown card stock for the base and it really makes the aquamarine color pop.

Ingredients: Button and flowers (Making Memories) Memento Ink: Tuxedo black (sentiment); Stamp: American Crafts Sentiments and Studio G Clear Stamps (chevron); Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, Stylized Flowers; Card Stock: Bazzill and Neenah; MFT Die-Namics Fishtale Flag Stax.

Have a great evening and thanks for visiting!

Inspired By...#62

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Just a quick post to share a card I did for the Inspired By... Challenge blog.
Isn't this a great color combo?  Definitely a challenge, too!  And I didn't use a stamp, I think that may be a first, well at least for this year... ;-)

Ingredients:  Designer Paper, Cosmo Cricket (Tea for Two collection); Bazzill card stock; I colored the "hi" with a Copic Marker W5; I'm pretty sure that the alpha's are white fabric Thickers (American Crafts).  Finished card is A2.

For I am determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.  1 Corinthians 2:2

A Birthday "Hay There!" - Seize the Birthday #6

 Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Hooray it's Friday night and I don't think anything out of the ordinary is planned for tomorrow, YAY!!  I hope I can steal a few hours and do some more organizing in my craft room in between loads of laundry.  I've been putting off the wash because of a plumbing issue but we are back in good order so....laundry is at the top of the list.  We'll see what tomorrow brings!

I've been working on this card the last couple of days.  I started coloring late last evening and finally finished it this afternoon.  Love this designer paper from Simple Stories (Harvest Lane), I thought it was perfect for the farm scene.  As you can see, I am entering this into the second half of the Seize the Birthday challenge.  This week is the masculine card sketch and I am really enjoying building my birthday card collection for the guys.

The fun stamp set is from Taylored Expressions called Green Acres.  I've used the Taylored Expressions Dies (cloud, banner) as well as the Spellbinder Nestabilities Standard Circle.
Other Ingredients:  Bazzill, Neenah card stock; Martha Stewart fence border punch; Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Inks (peeled paint, broken china); Copic Markers to color the images.

Have a great weekend and thank you for visiting!

Most assuredly I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.  John 5:24

Inspired by.... Challenge 61 (Valentine Card)

Hello Delightful friends and family,
I'm back! Can you believe I've posted cards two days in a row.  Me either (ha!)
We are having a very beautiful day here in northern California, it's was icy this morning but the sun is out and it's been a gorgeous day although chilly.  Spent the afternoon helping my grandson age five  five and a half make valentine cards for his classmates (his mom and I ending up making most of them!)
Here is my card for the challenge at Inspired By.  This is my first time to play along and I only found this blog a week ago and I was inspired by the picture so I thought I'd join in on the fun. I kept it pretty simple but I was happy how it turned out.
I'm also entering this into the Ribbon Carousel Blog Challenge  RCC77... Love is in the Air

My hearts are the Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers Mini Hearts set and I sprayed them with Ranger Dylusions Ink Spray (Postman Red). The faux stitching was made with a fine tipped Sharpie.  I've added a strip of red gingham Fabric Tape and added a natural button (stash) and the bow is Sew Easy Fancy Floss Baker's Twine (primary colors).
The stamps: Inkadinkadoo (sentiment) and the little heart is from Taylored Expressions (Buddy Bear set). Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black;  Paper:  Card Stock (Bazzill red, black) and Neenah Bright White.  Embossing folder: ProvoCraft Cuttlebug (Polka Dots)

Well that's it for me!  Enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening, I'm heading to the night service at our church, the keyboard is calling my name :-)
Thanks for visiting!

Seize the Birthday and the Cupcake! STB#5

 Hello Delightful friends and family!!

It's time for another fun birthday card at Seize the Birthday.
This challenge sketch #5  is for the feminine birthday card which was perfect timing because it's my bosses birthday this week. Happy Birthday to Sondra!

I've used Mimi (Sweet Thing) from Penny Black stamps.  Isn't she cute?!

I've colored her with Copic Markers and paper pieced her bow and dress. I've embellished the cupcake with liquid pearls and Moonlit Smooches. If you take a close up look at the cupcake the teeny tiny dots were created by the liquid pearls and a piercing tool. I placed a dot of the pearls on my Craft Sheet and then dipped my piercing tool into the pearls then applied a tiny dot onto the frosting and the decorative yellow circles at the edge of the cupcake liner. I've also added a bit of sparkle to the headband, tights and wings with a Spica Pen. I think it's those little extras that can add dimension and interest to a card. The sentiment is from the Taylored Expressions Build a Treat set. The designer paper I've used is from the Basic Grey True Love collection (6x6 pad).
(inside)

Other Ingredients:  Ranger Adirondack Dimensional Pearls Espresso and Ranger Liquid Pearls White Opal and Buttercup; Darice Hemp Natural cord; American Crafts Elements Glitter Buttons; Lace (stash); Dies: Spellbinders Nestabilities: Lacey circles and Standard circles; MFT Die-Namics Fishtail Flags STAX; EK Success Corner rounder and Scallop Diamond border (inside card);  Inks:  Memento Tuxedo Black and Distress Inks, Worn Lipstick and Frayed Burlap.
Copics:  I've used a lot of "E's" because I was experimenting with skin tones and hair color.  E0000, 000, 11, 21, 25, 31, 35, 39, 50, 95, 97; R01, 11, 22, 27, 32; RV02, 13, 14, 21; Y00, 02, 08, 11,13; W0, W1 and the Colorless blender.  The finished card is A2.

Thanks for visiting!  Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.  Thoughts and prayers to those suffering from the extreme weather out there this past few days.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.  Revelation 3:20

You Have My Heart - Word Art Wednesday #65

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Just a quick post to share a card I made for Valentines Day.  Loved using the washi tape (Glitz and Queen & Co) to embellish this quick and easy card.

The larger heart was stamped with Amore ( Hero Arts Exclusive collection) and then fussy cut. The top heart was punched from an older heart punch (not sure of the manufacturer) but I used the same designer paper as the top layer and inked around the edges (Distress Inks). Then adhered the two hearts and added a dimensional to pop it up.  The heart button is from a Key Ingredient kit (Taylored Expressions) as is the sentiment stamp (Buddy Bear). Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp and I've colored the heart with a Distress Pen (Worn Lipstick)

The designer paper I've used is Fancy Pants Love Notes collection (6x6 pad) and I've used Distress Inks: Antique Linen and Worn Lipstick around the edges.  The card base is Neenah bright white card stock and the deep red/burgundy card stock is Bazzill.

I'm entering this into the challenge at Word Art Wednesday - Anything Goes

Well that's it for me tonight!  The weekend is coming to a close so I hope you have a great week.
Thanks for visiting!

It is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.  Philippians 2:13
