Hope in God (TMS234 and WAW117)

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
I wanted to make a special card for a couple going through some deep waters (figuratively speaking) right now.  It seems they are just going through a real time of testing in every area of their life.  I know the refining process isn't always the most pleasant but once they get through it and see how the Lord has truly been holding their hands though out, the end result should not only develop a deeper love for Christ but an opportunity to minister to others experiencing the same things.  I will see them tonight and I hope it will encourage them.

I will be entering this card in the Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge #234 and Word Art Wednesday #117 Anything Goes

Here is the sketch I used.

The designer paper is from Echo Park (6x6 paper pad - So Happy Together Collection)
Bazzill card stock; Sentiment (Sweet 'n Sassy : Future stamp set: part of the January release)
Inks: Distress Ink (Bundled Sage); Memento (Tuxedo Black)
Heart Charm (my stash); Ribbon (Taylored Expressions)
Die: Spellbinders, Nestabilities Deckled rectangle

 This is the inside sentiment.  (Sweet 'n Sassy's - "Future" stamp set)

Thanks so much for visiting!! I look forward to reading the delightful comments, thank you so much.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Only God knows... Sympathy card (WAW #117)

Hello Delightful Friends and Family!
Quick post tonight!  I wanted to do a simple one layer card and just bought this new (to me) stamp set of sentiments from Avery Elle.  I love the fonts! It also has the small flowers and petals as well as some other small shapes.
Unfortunately I've been needing sympathy cards (2014 is starting out rather rough for those left behind) and I thought this is somewhat cheery and I hope it brightens our young friend's day.

The inks I've used are Archival (venetian orange, chrome yellow) Memento (tuxedo black, pear tart), Colorbox (Playground).  Card stock is Neenah bright white.

The inside sentiment is new from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Future.  It is one of 10 sentiments. I've added more flowers on the inside.  This is for a young lady who goes to our church and it's
not only to express condolences but to encourage her as well.

I will be sharing this card at Word Art Wednesday #117 Anything Goes.

Thanks for visiting and have a blessed week!

3x3 Valentine Card and Envelope with Paper Bow

Hey Delightful friends and family!

Here is a little sample of a 3x3 Valentine card with envelope.  No big deal right?  But I just watched a YouTube to make a paper bow using the Envelope Punch Board from WeR Memory Keepers.  It's super easy and I think a super cute way to embellish this little envelope.  Here is the link.  I decided not to add the bottom layer on my bow, I liked it better without it.  But check out the video if you haven't seen it yet!
I've used the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit and Stamp of the Month (Kiss Me) for the 3x3 card and envelope.  I've also used the Marvy Uchida Scallop Heart Punch (2 different sizes) and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. The envelope flap tucks under the heart to close it.
The white heart is popped up with dimensional squares.

I'm going to take this envelope w/bow to work and suggest it for a Make and Take that we do on Mondays and Tuesdays.  I think our crafters will love it!

My little granddaughters will love these for their 3x3 Valentine cards!

Thanks so much for visiting and have a great weekend!

I 'Mustache' you a Question... FMS120 and WAW116

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Just a quick post to share a card I made tonight.  I'll be sharing it at Freshly Made Sketches (#120) and Word Art Wednesday #116 (Anything Goes).  Another Valentine card for my stash!

Of course the answer to the above question is... will you be my Valentine?  But I think I could use this for other occasions, too! And I could make it more masculine just by changing up the papers and exchanging the heart for another shape.  Fun stamp set from Taylored Expressions Stamp of the Month series.

Here are the ingredients I've used:
Stamps: Taylored Expressions (Kiss Me -SOM);
Designer Paper: Authentique (Smitten Collection - 6x6 bundle)l
Ink: Memento, Tuxedo Black; Distress Inks: Black Soot
Black Embossing Powder (Ranger);
Card Stock: Bazzill and DCWV Textured;
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder: Polka Dots
Marvy Uchida Scallop Heart Punch;
MFT Die-Namics: Fishtail Banner STAX

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  Hope you have a great rest of your week!

Hugs and Kisses Forever - Sentimental Sundays (190) and WAW (116)

Hello Delightful friends and family!
It's another sunny day in northern California.  My little granddaughters (ages 3 & 4) are having fun playing in the backyard, we just got back from church and Ladies Bible study, then it was a quick walk to the post office, had lunch and now they are enjoying the afternoon playing "school" with their Leap Pads. Won't be long before we will be heading to the school to pick up Jakob and hand little Princess Tucker over to her momma.  Busy day! Thankfully dinner is in the crockpot!

I made this card to play in a new (for me) challenge at Sentimental Sundays and Word Art Wednesday #116 (Anything Goes) plus I really need to add to my short stack of Valentine cards!  The challenge at Sentimental Sundays is to have more than 3 layers to your card plus a sentiment.  Okay... so this is a little out of my comfort zone, it's my version of perhaps a "modified" shabby chic styled card.  More on the shabby than chic I'm afraid.  I've distressed the edges, did a tiny line of stitching (in the middle), and inked around the edges of one of the panels and the heart.

Ingredients:   Paper and stamp (Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit and Stamp set of the month - Jan. 2014); Buttons, twine and staple (stash) Inks: Distress Inks, Worn Lipstick and Antique Linen; Sentiment: Sticker from Authentique (6x6 Bundle: Smitten Collection); Heart punch (Marvy Uchida: Super Jumbo); Paper Distresser

Thanks so much for looking!! Have a great week!

The rich and the poor have a common bond.  The LORD is the maker of them all.  Proverbs 22:2

Another January Birthday! STB, CAS(E) this Sketch 60, SACC #40

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
Hope you are having a great weekend. We are still experiencing a warm spell in the midst of January!  It's been a bit strange but I most admit the warm sunshine has been very welcome.  We are used to having lots of rain and I just read that the governor has declared the drought a state of emergency.  So please pray for California, we are in such a mess, in much more serious ways than just no rain.

I've made this birthday card for my daughter-in-law Amy whose birthday is coming up at the end of the month.
I'm entering this card in these challenges:
1. Seize the Birthday with the Option to color  (I've used Copic Markers)
2. CAS(E) this Sketch! #60
3. Sister Act Card Challenge Blog #40

Here are the ingredients to this card:
Stamps: Taylored Expressions, Olivia (The Moka Collection); In the Bag set (sentiment and matching die)
Paper: Taylored Expressions January Key Ingredient kit - Crate Paper (Love Notes 6x6 pad); Bazzill C/S; Neenah (white c/s for stamping Olivia); Memento, Tuxedo Black ink;
 Copics: E00,01,11,13,21,31,33,37,50,70,71,93; R000,00,56,59,81,85; RV00; W1,8;
 Spica Pen (Lipstick);
EK Success Border Punch (scallop diamond). Spellbinders Nestabilities A2 Matting Basics

Thanks so much for visiting and have a great day!!  I'm off to watch some football with my hubby.

Congrats Card - PSS Picture Perfect Challenge

Hello and Welcome Delightful friends and family!
It's Friday and it looks to be a very busy day!! I'm am so looking forward to a quiet Saturday (hmm... we'll see) I'll have my two youngest granddaughters this morning so I thought I'd best get this posted before playtime at Grammie's starts!  We've been having a heat wave here, (so unlike this time of year - we are pretty desperate for rain), so a walk to the park will probably be on the agenda, today!  I know that will make my girls very happy campers!

My card today is for the challenge at Paper Smooches SPARKS, LOVE this inspiration picture!!!!  Great colors and lots of textures to choose from.  Hope you like my take on it.  I've used the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler Stamp.  Ribbon and button are from my stash.  Memento Tuxedo Black Ink was used to stamp the sentiment (which by the way I managed to sneak in a "C" - see the inspiration photo below)

 Here's the PICTURE PERFECT CHALLENGE Photo

 I wanted to show a close up of the score lines that I made using my Score Pal and then added the Liquid Pearls (Ranger - Buttercup)  I've used the Cuttlebug Divine Swirls Embossing folder and then used the Ranger Black Soot Distress Ink and Applicator to add a bit more depth.
 The dies are Spellbinders Nestabilities (scallop circles and standard circles) and Bazzill and Neenah card stock are the papers featured on this card.

 Thanks for visiting!  Have a great weekend and enjoy!

Thank You card - Tuesday Morning Sketches #232

Hello Delightful friends and family,
This week is just speeding by isn't it!  Just a quick post to share a card and play in a challenge that I don't believe I've ever participated in before, then Addy and I must go and walk Ruby my oldest daughter's dog and then pick up Jakob from school!
  Tuesday Morning Sketches has a sketch and then the added twist is to make a monochromatic or tone on tone card. I have a couple more thank you cards to make so here is one I made to go along with the challenge.

Sorry the picture quality isn't the greatest. I really need to work on that. The card is so much prettier in person. I am really disappointed how it looks in the photo.  It looks like the leaning Tower of Pisa (boo-hoo!)

Here is the challenge sketch.

My ingredients:
Designer paper: My Minds Eye: Meadowlark
Stamp: Crafty Individuals (CI - 385); Paper Smooches (Sentiment Sampler set)
Black card stock: Bazzill; Gray card stock: my stash
Twinklettes (Rhinestones on flowers - Taylored Expressions
Dies:  Spellbinder, Nestabilities (scallop circle and standard circle)
MFT, Die-Namics Fishtail Flag Stax

Thanks again for visiting!

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith.

Love Notes - Valentine card

Hello Delightful friends and family
Well I've been enjoying all the wonderful Valentine cards I've been seeing throughout blogland and Pinterest and so I have finally jumped in and made my first one for 2014.  I was inspired by the sketch at Clean&Simple stamping challenge (#275) although I don't think it's anything close to being clean and simple (ha!)

Here is the sketch that inspired me and you can see it had a mind of it's own ;-)

 I used my WR Memory Keeps Envelope board to create the envelope (fits a 3x3 card).  The base is a pre-scored white card (A2) and envelope set from Paper Accents.  The designer paper (Crate Paper - Love Notes) and card stock are from the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredient Kit this month.  I've used a couple of different stamps.  The focal stamp is this darling pup from Penny Black (Crush - wood mount) and I've stamped Crush with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics.  I've embossed with clear embossing powder on the top half of the card with a heart stamp from Taylored Expressions Stamp of the Month (January : Kiss Me).
The scalloped heart is a Marvy Uchida mega punch, the bookmark is a die from Taylored Expressions.

(inside of card - cute sentiment stamps from the Stamp of the Month from Taylored Expressions and the punch is EK Success Binding Edge Edger)

I'll be entering this card at:
Word Art Wednesday #115  Anything Goes
Clean&Simple stamping #275

Thanks so much for visiting!! Enjoy the rest of the week.

Sympathy Card

Hello Delightful Friends and Family

I know that we don't like the reality that comes with making sympathy cards but they can bring wonderful comfort to those who are grieving over a loved one.  It's an opportunity to express love and care during a time of loss.  We have a friend who recently lost her father and so I've made this card.  It's CAS but I think it is very tasteful for the occasion.  Unfortunately, I have another one I'll be making.  Our dear friend Rosie went on to be with the Lord on New Year's Day, she was a very faithful member of our church who had quite the battle with cancer, but we have the hope of seeing her again!  It's tough for us to let go but God is faithful to comfort the brokenhearted. Thank you, Jesus.

I'll be sharing  this card at Word Art Wednesday (Anything Goes #114)
and Paper Smooches Sparks (Anything Goes)

I've used the Sentiment Sampler (Paper Smooches) and for the background on gray card stock is a background stamp from Prima Marketing.  I've used Bazzill card stock and Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The die is from Spellbinders and I've embellished with two dots of Liquid Pearls (peacock color)

Well that is it for me today.  Thanks for visiting!

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  Psalm 16:11

Hey Chickie - Paper Smooches

Hello Delightful friends and family!

Hope your are having a blessed day and evening!  Here is another CAS card I made for the Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge.  I was delighted(!!!) to see I was a "Featured Player" mention this week on their PSS blog for my snowman tag!!!!! That was a great surprise today! Yay!!

Isn't this Chickie just the cutest!?  She is from the Chubby Chums set.  What a fun collection, can't wait to stamp it up some more!  I paper pieced the wings and feet with pattern paper and then added the washi tape under the sentiment (by the way, the sentiments with this set are so fun!)  I've stamped with Memento rich cocoa and added a little gold Spica pen to the tuft of feathers and her beak.   I wish I had taken a picture of the inside before I gave this to BREE (my co-worker) as a thank-you. The inside sentiment was "You Rock" (PS Sentiment Sampler set) with the little chickie from the beak up, peeking from the bottom of the card.  Very fun!

Well that's it for me tonight.  I'll post another thank you card tomorrow!  Off to my craft room....

my lips shall praise You."
