Festive Friday #41 Christmas Door

Hey there Delightful Friends and Family!
Ok, last card I posted was quick and easy and this one not so much!! (ha!) However, once it was designed and figured out it wasn't quite as difficult (I made a second one with a fall theme that was super fun and I'll share it in another post later on).  I saw this inspiration picture at Festive Friday and knew this would be perfect for the challenge! I was inspired by the wreath and door.

The wreath is a Sizzix Movers and Shakers Die which I cut multiple times with light, med, dark green card stock and then added Dimensional Pearls in Red Pepper.  My base is Desert Storm Neenah card stock.  I've added the medium green card stock layer after running it through the Cuttlebug in a Sizzix Brick embossing folder and then with a Ranger blending tool I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink to add a bit of ink to the green.

Inside of card:  Our Daily Bread Stamp - Christmas Door

Thanks for letting me share and this is one of the cards that will be featured in my class at Scrapper's Edge in November!

Grateful

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
It's a beautiful Saturday and we had some much needed rain this week (hooray and thank you Lord!!)
Here is a thank you card I did a while back.  A real simple design and quick to put together.
The base is a pre-folded white A2 card.  Add a black layer to the base, then a teal card stock piece 1/8" smaller and run through the Cuttlebug in a "Thank You" embossing folder.  I've added ribbon then cut 3 rectangles using the Spellbinder die (A2 Basic Matting Dies).  I've used a sentiment from the Paper Smooches Blossoming Blooms, stamped with Archival Jet Black Ink and popped it up with dimensionals and that's it.  Easy peasy, quick 'n easy!

I will be entering this card at

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the weekend!

Exciting News and a Card

Hello Delightful friends and family!
We finally had some rain yesterday!! Boy do we need it here in northern California!  It is so muggy today I just hope we can have a few more showers without the thunder and lightening!
The weather held up and I went to BBQ lunch with all the school age grandkids today to celebrate Grandparents day.  They are all so stinkin' cute!  No I didn't have 3 lunches but I did sit with the granddaughters and then ate lunch with Jakob and his buddies.

I'm excited to share that I will be teaching some card making classes at our local craft store Scrapper's Edge.  My first class is in October.  I just finished 4 samples for the class which I'm calling Build a Scene.  You know I love to paper piece and I think this will appeal to both beginners and advanced card makers!  I made 2 autumn themed and 2 winter themed scenes.  I will share them here at a later time.  They will feature Lawn Fawn (stamps & dies) and Paper Smooches stamps for this class.  I'm so excited!!!

Today I am sharing a card I made a couple of weeks ago for a family that lost their 23 year old daughter.  She was born with Cerebral Palsy and has been completely dependent for all of her care since birth.  A sad time yes, but now she's free and with the Lord in a perfect body for the first time.  So we grieve for ourselves but rejoice for this innocent one.

I've embossed the yellow panel and then blended white ink over the raised portion.  The designer paper is from Memory Box (that I've been hoarding!), the paper flowers are Sizzix mini Tattered Flowers (movers and shapers line), the sentiment and leaf/branch die are Taylored Expressions.  I've used Archival Jet Black ink and the button comes from my stash.

I'll be sharing this card at Word Art Wednesday #150 Anything Goes.

That's it for me today, thanks for visiting!

Dude, Happy Birthday!

Hello Delightful friends and family!

We had a birthday in our extended family last week.  My sister's boyfriends' son (I'm not checking to see if I did the punctuation correctly on that! ha!)  Anyway, I needed a masculine card for a teenage boy and I happened to have this digi image from ByLori Designs (Ethan) that hadn't been colored and it was perfect for Hunter who just happens to be into skateboarding.  Yay!!  So I pulled out my Copics and colored away!  I've used the Avery Elle stamp set called Surf's Up for the sentiment and the matching Happy Birthday is on the inside (love the font!).  The card base is Neenah Desert Storm (Scrapper's Edge) and the designer paper is Echo Park (Scoot 6x6 pad).  I've used the Taylored Expressions matching stamp and die set Garden Party Blooms.  Ink: Archival Jet Black and Dandelion.  The faux stitching was made by a Faber Castell Big Artist Pen in white.

I'll be playing along with the challenges at the following blogs:
Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes)
Word Art Wednesday #149 (Anything Goes)

Keeping it simple on the inside.

Well that's it for me!  Thanks for visiting.

Thanks

Hello Delightful friends and family,
Can I get any busier?!  Holy moly I thought for sure things would wind down a bit once the kids got in school but that is not the way things have played out this week.  Mercy!!  I have managed to make a few cards but getting them from my camera to a blog post has been the stumbling block here!  One of our Sunday School classes is growing up and expanding so I've taken on the older kids (mostly boys) so I've been cleaning out a "storage" room and making it back into a classroom. Then we had to prepare for a memorial service and two ladies in our church were in the hospital, one had a serious stroke and the other in a serious motorcycle accident.  Please keep my husband and I in your prayers!

I needed a couple of thank you cards and here is the first one.  I love the simplicity of it!  It needs to be mailed so I kept it CAS.  I love the font of the die (Taylored Expressions - a thank you for a purchase!)  This would definitely be a "10 minute or under" card.  The embossing folder is by Sizzix.

I will be entering the challenge at Word Art Wednesday#148  Anything Goes

Thanks so much for visiting and sorry I've not been making my regular rounds in blogland.  Hope to remedy that soon!
