If Life Gives You Lemons - #thedailymarker30day

Hello Delightful friends and family!
Well, we are definitely in spring!  You know how I know?  I spent last evening at my grandson's Little League practice!  I even pulled out a glove and played catch with him, thankfully he is just 8 years old, I'm just a tad bit rusty!  I thought for sure I'd be be sore all over today but I'm not!  (thank you, Lord!)
Here is a card I did for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge #thedailymarker30day
I colored this with Copics and the stamp is from Taylored Expressions.  I did one more with watercolors but it is still in my camera and I made that one for my daughter's birthday yesterday (Happy Birthday Kelly!)

Isn't this paper cute, it's from Echo Park.

I will be sharing this at Word Art Wednesday #176.

Thanks for visiting and hope you take time today to smell the roses and sip some tea (or coffee)!  Can't wait to share what I've been coloring!  Hopefully I'll be able to post that tonight when I finish.

Coffee Right Meow!

Hello Delightful friends and family,
This week is really flying by can't believe it's already Wednesday!  We got our much needed rain on Monday and Tuesday.
I'm off from working at the lss for the week but I'll have my grandkids after school today and Friday and lots to do inbetween.  Our church collected diapers and wipes for our local Pregnancy Care Center for the last 3 weeks so we have LOTS of cases of diapers to deliver on Thursday.  Can't wait to see their faces :-)
I've been busy coloring and will be linking this up at #thedailymarker30day it's a challenge blog to color something and share for 30 days.  I haven't done 30 days (lol) but I've enjoyed the daily inspiration from Kathy Racoosin.

I've used a stamp set from Taylored Expressions called "If Cats Could Talk" and the die is new from Tim Holtz called Fresh Brewed, I've embossed the cozy with a Stephanie Ackerman embossing folder from Sizzix. The card is a very simple layout design and I can see myself making a few of these just changing out the color of the card stock and maybe adding more faux stitching or liquid pearls to embellish. I've colored with Copics, love the kitty's expression (it's interchangeable!).  Fun!  The stitched word bubble is #2 from Spellbinders.

I will be sharing this at Word Art Wednesday #176 Anything Goes

Have a great week and thanks for visiting!

Are you feeling it? Spring is just around the corner!

Hello Delightful friends and family!!
Another beautiful morning although rain is in the forecast for Sunday, we need the rain to get those beautiful flowers though, don't we!  Here is a flower card FOR YOU , especially for those who aren't experiencing Spring weather.  Hard to believe it's Spring when you watch the weather channel!

Here is a card I made and will be sharing at Word Art Wednesday this week.  It's the Faux Ceramic Tile technique I've learned at the Online Card Classes.  Here is my sample, hope you like it!

I've used a Taylored Expressions Die (2) the flower and circle center, chipboard (not happy with regular white heavy chipboard but it worked this time and I'll explain in another post - much better results using Inchies), Avery Elle sentiment, Lawn Fawn stitched scallop die. Avery Elle pigment ink and clear embossing powder and Archival black ink.

Thanks for visiting! Have a terrific Friday!

Just a Note - a watercolor technique

Hello Delightful friends and family!
It's a gorgeous day here on the north coast of California!  Spring is definitely around the corner, our trees are budding and my wisteria is looking so pretty!  I must admit our winter has been extremely mild and I feel so bad for our east coast friends and family.  I hope and pray you are beginning to see some signs of spring!

I have a card to share that was inspired by Sandy Allnock's card and watercolor technique she calls Faux Glazed Glass.  I didn't use the same supplies and had to improvise and use what I had on hand, but I was happy with the results so thank you Sandy for the inspiration!!  This background is  watercolor that is layered with reds, orange and pinks (dried in between layers of color), with very little black and then some gold Perfect Pearls to add gold veins of color throughout.  I cut it down to make the square background and used some of the leftover paper to die cut the butterfly.  Beneath the pretty butterfly is a black butterfly mimicking the shadow.

The stamped and gold embossed sentiment is from Paper Smooches and the butterfly is a Spellbinder Shapeabilities die, the watercolor paper is from Ranger.  I will be sharing this card at Word Art Wednesday #175 Anything Goes.

Thanks for looking and have a blessed day!

Birthdays and Coloring!

Hello Delightful friends and family,
I have two birthday cards to share today and I will be entering this first one at Seize the Birthday Card Challenge.  The challenge is to focus on the sentiment.
My second card is my grandson Jakob's card.  He is 8 years old! Oh my how time has flown by!

Seize the Birthday card:

My second card was inspired to share with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge at The Daily Marker Blog!  I'm a little slow getting out and sharing today is day 11 of 30!

I will be sharing both cards at Word Art Wednesday #174 Anything Goes.

Thanks for visiting and God bless!

Hello Friend

Hello Delightful friends and family,
I've been totally neglecting blogland (especially my own blog!)  Just cannot get motivated lately to take the time to post.  However, I have been super busy in the craftroom. Teaching card making classes takes a lot of prep time!!
Here is a card I made for a set I gave to my nephew Will's fundraising auction.  The stamp is from Taylored Expressions.  I've watercolored the Kitty and the pocket is a die that came with the stamp set, it is also a piece I watercolored (it was a reject, but I pulled it out of the garbage and used it anyway!)  The sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder and also comes from the same cute set from T.E. called Peeking In.
That's all for me tonight!  I have oodles of cards to share, just got to get them from the file onto the blog!

Thanks for visiting!
